This article discusses a device that can be placed at the bottom of our shoes that can convert the energy from the vibrations in our steps to electrical energy (this is obviously over-simplified). The power from this device can be used to power our everyday devices, like our phones, or iPods. Now, that does not seem like a lot of power, but let's not forget that that is power everyday, so it actually adds up rather quickly. While it is not the most ground breaking innovation, I still can appreciate it; I love the thought of instead of losing all our mechanical energy to the vibrations from our steps, why not capture some of it to power a few of our everyday devices? Either way, I am always interested improving efficient use of our energy, even if it involves that men end up wearing heels...
